Woman assaulted with a weapon when leaving friend's home Monday

Halifax District RCMP describe the woman's injuries as serious but not life-threatening

A woman was seriously injured when she was assaulted in East Preston Monday night.

Halifax District RCMP say the woman was leaving a friend's house on Brian Street at around 6 p.m. when she was assaulted with a weapon.

When the friend came outside and found her bleeding, he had his wife call 911 and administered first aid while they waited for EHS to arrive.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Halifax District RCMP or Halifax Regional Police at 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers.
