Halifax Regional Municipality will enforce the winter parking ban overnight.

Any vehicles left parked on city streets between 1 and 6 a.m. on  Friday, Feb. 14 risk being ticketed or towed.

In addition to the overnight ban, vehicles can be ticketed or towed at any time of day or night if they get in the way of snow clearing operations under the province's Motor Vehicle Act.

Residents are asked to make sure vehicles aren't blocking sidewalks. Those hanging out of driveways or parked on the sidewalk risk being damaged by snow removal equipment and could also be ticketed.

The HRM is also reminding those heading out to shovel to not dump snow from your property onto the street or sidewalk.
