Halifax Regional Municipality says they will be enforcing the winter parking ban overnight into Tuesday from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.

Vehicles that get in the way of snow removal crews could be ticketed or towed.

They also ask residents to move planters, lawn decorations, sports equipment and other objects away from sidewalks.

Environment Canada expects snow to start falling Monday evening with an accumulation of about 5 to 10 centimetres.

They've issued a special weather statement for the Halifax area, warning if the system shifts west, we could get more snow.

They add travel could be messy early Tuesday morning.
