Jane pings near McNabs on Tuesday, July 23

Halifax sees many visitors this time of year as thousands of tourists descend upon the harbour.

One of them is a great white shark named Jane.

At 4:47 a.m. Tuesday, Jane pinged inside the breakwater at McNabs Island, right next to the Maugher Beach Lighthouse.

She arrived in Nova Scotia's waters near Cape Sable Island on Saturday and was detected near Lockeport Monday morning.

Jane was one of three sharks tagged on Thanksgiving Day near West Ironbound Island during the research group's expedition last fall in Nova Scotia.

The 10 feet long, 521 pound shark was the first female great white to be SPOT tagged in Canadian waters.

She's one of four sharks tagged by OCEARCH last fall swimming near the province.

Hal, Cabot and Luna are detected near the southwestern tip of Nova Scotia.
