Two people have been charged after a drug search by Halifax Regional Police.

The department's guns and gangs unit conducted a traffic stop at Harvey and Barrington streets Thursday.

They say a 31-year-old Halifax man was arrested for possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

Soon after, police searched a home on Lynch Street and say they seized cocaine, marijuana, a hand gun, ammunition, cash, a conducted energy device and drug paraphernalia.

After turning herself into police in Dartmouth last night, a 30-year-old Halifax woman was arrested.

Matthew Robert Cater and Krystle Lee Banks are both scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court Friday to face charges of drug trafficking and multiple weapons offenses.
