Lunenburg District RCMP are concerned for the safety of a suspect they say lost his shoes while running away from officers.

Mounties were tipped off to a suspicious vehicle on Lighthouse Rd. in the Fox Point area just before 3 a.m. Thursday.

When officers arrived, they say they found two suspects breaking into a home.

One was arrested shortly after police say he tried to escape into the ocean.

The second ran off into the woods, losing his shoes in the process.

Mounties say they're concerned for his safety because he didn't seem properly dressed for the conditions.

He's described as white, in his 20s with brown hair and no footwear. He's around 5'9" and 140 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Lunenburg District RCMP at 902-527-5555 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
