Update: Rainfall warning now in effect.
It looks like we're in for a wet start to the weekend.
According to a special weather statement issued for the Halifax area late Thursday morning, rain is expected to start falling Friday afternoon.
"Rainfall amounts from this system are expected be highly variable, particularly for regions along the Atlantic coast," said the advisory from Environment Canada.
We could get up to 25 mm before the rain ends Saturday.
The national forecaster said that, combined with melting snow, could cause minor flooding.
