SAINT JOHN, N.B. - The Halifax Mooseheads lost their second straight game Friday night, falling to the Saint John Sea Dogs 6-3.
Ostap Safin put the Sea Dogs on the board early, finding the back of Blade Mann-Dixon's net at the 4:54 mark of the opening frame.
Otto Somppi eventually tied it up for the Herd with his 19th goal of the season. Safin helped Saint John regain the lead, but not long before Filip Zadina scored his 35th of the season to tie things up at 2-2.
Robbie Burt managed to put the Sea Dogs up 3-2 heading into the final period.
Both teams traded goals early in the third with Kevin Gursoy and Burt scoring for the Sea Dogs, while Xavier Parent netted one for the Herd.
Ben Reid capped things off for Sea Dogs, scoring unassisted to give Saint John a 6-3 win.
The Mooseheads head back to the Scotiabank Centre on Sunday, when they host the Shawinigan Cataractes.
