Rouyn-Noranda Huskies win President Cup over Halifax Mooseheads

The Huskies took the QMJHL Championship with a 4-2 series win over the Mooseheads.

HALIFAX, NS - The Rouyn-Noranda Huskies have won the QMJHL Championship, winning game six against the Halifax Mooseheads 4-0.

This is the Huskies second President Cup.

Halifax now prepares for the Memorial Cup, with their first game scheduled for Friday night.

The Moose fell behind in the middle of the first period, after Tyler Hinam put the Huskies up 1-0.

Rafaël Harvey-Pinard scored his 13th of the playoffs at the midway mark of the second before Alex Beaucage added a third for the Huskies.

Rafaël Harvey-Pinard added an empty netter to seal the game for the Huskies.

Samuel Harvey stopped all 34 shots faced in the game.

Halifax will need to regroup before playing the WHL champion on Friday night at the Scotiabank Centre.
