Throughout the month of May, the Nova Scotia RCMP have been sharing bicycle safety tips on social media. To keep the momentum going we are launching an art contest!

Students in Nova Scotia from grade primary to twelve can get creative by sending us their best piece of artwork that demonstrates bicycle safety for a chance to win a police-themed prize package, including a visit to their local RCMP detachment.

Three winners will be chosen, one from each school level (elementary, junior high and high school). Artwork can be a drawing, painting, graphic design or anything showing bicycle safety. Examples include safety equipment, motorists and cyclists sharing the road, the one metre rule, just to name a few.

Submissions will be judged on originality, creativity and the accurate use of safety tips. Artwork must be submitted no later than May 31, 2019 to be entered in the contest. The three winners from across the province will be notified on June 7, 2019. The winning artwork will be showcased on our social media accounts and via news release.

Submissions can be sent by regular mail to:

RCMP 'H' Division Headquarters
80 Garland Avenue
Strategic Communications
Unit/Mailstop #H-045
Dartmouth NS, B3B 0J8

Or can be scanned and sent by:

We encourage all participants to be creative. We look forward to seeing your works of art!
