HALIFAX - Regional Police officers will be at three area schools Thursday morning after threats were made against all of them on Wednesday.

Police said threats were received Wednesday morning against Rocky Lake Junior High School in Bedford, as well as Ian Forsyth Elementary and Caledonia Junior High Schools in Dartmouth.

Halifax Regional School Board has not yet commented on the threats but Global News reports in a letter sent home to parents on Wednesday, Caledonia Junior High Principal Lisa Vaughn wrote police have deemed it not necessary to close the school. She goes on to say that the safety of students and staff is priority.

The investigation is ongoing but police believe there is no threat to students and officers will be on scene as a precaution.
