Halifax Regional Police say one of their officers was in a crash Saturday afternoon while responding to an emergency call.

Police say the vehicle had its emergency lights and siren going at around 3:25 p.m. when it was involved in the collision at the corner of Quinpool Rd. and Robie St.

Both drivers were alone in their vehicles at the time, and both were taken to hospital with minor injuries before being treated and released.

There was significant damage to both vehicles.

Police say their investigation is ongoing and it's not yet known if there will be charges.
