On the first anniversary of the murder of Josiah Kaelin Sparks, investigators are hoping to hear from anyone with information that could help solve the case.

Halifax District RCMP were called to Cherry Brook Rd. in Lake Loon just after 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017 after Sparks' body was found.

They believe the 22-year-old went to a gathering at a home on Cherry Brook Rd. at some point between Sept. 11 and Sept. 14. Police would like to speak with anyone who saw him there.

"We are asking for the public's assistance with solving this homicide," says Detective Constable Scott MacLeod. "Someone out there knows what happened and it's important for them to do the right thing and come forward with their information."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the RCMP's homicide unit at (902) 490-5331 and say it's about file number 17-138892.

Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers.

The case is also a part of the Nova Scotia Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program which offers a reward of up to $150,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the homicide.
