Earlier this evening, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a missing 11-year-old boy in the area of Carlton St, Dartmouth.

The boy had been playing in the back yard and wandered into a wooded area near his home.

Patrol and K-9 members, along with Halifax Regional Fire, searched the area and located the boy when his yelling was heard.

Police say the boy was attempting to make it to a power line when he got lost and his foot became stuck in a swamp.

He was uninjured and reunited with his parents.
