Halifax Regional Police confirm they are looking into allegations an officer with the force violated provincial health directives aimed at limiting the spread of COVID-19.

An officer is alleged to have hosted what a witness describes as a noisy party at a Halifax home.

A source indicates neighbours complained to police but say nothing was done to stop the party.

Police spokesperson constable John Macleod confirms the matter is being investigated but will not comment on what he calls the specifics of internal matters.
