Police arrest two after Saturday night incident in Dartmouth

Halifax Regional Police say they were called to an apartment building on Primrose St. in Dartmouth for a disturbance just after 10 p.m. last night.

Patrol officers arrived and located two adult males and one adult female in a physical altercation in the hallway. Each man had a weapon, one a large flashlight and the other a small axe.

"Officers confirmed all three adults are known to each and a heated argument began in the hallway, which quickly turned violent," say police.

Police arrested both men at the scene. The suspect with the flashlight is facing assault with a weapon charges, and the suspect with the hatchet is facing charges of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes.

HRP says all three sustained minor injuries and were treated by EMS.

Following last night's incident, police searched an apartment in the building with a warrant this afternoon. Police say they are not on site anymore but do not say if the search resulted in any additional charges.

Both male Suspects were released and have future court dates.
