There was no picketing scheduled on Monday at NSCAD for striking faculty members.

In an update posted to the faculty union's website, president Mathew Reichertz wrote that an agreement was reached on the weekend to use a mediation/arbitration process to reach a new deal.

"This was not a decision that was taken lightly," Reichertz wrote in the note to members of the faculty union.

The faculty union was set to meet on Monday afternoon to discuss the decision.

The union has been on strike since Mar. 1.
