Municipality invites Haligonians to celebrate Recreation Month

June is Recreation Month and Halifax Regional Municipality is celebrating by offering free activities as some of their facilities.

On Saturday June 2, there will be free all-day recreational services at the Sackville Sports Stadium, including public swims, access to the fitness centre, and access to group classes. They will also have a bouncy castle, climbing wall, bungee jumping face painting, trail walks, mini workouts with a trainer and giveaways from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

On Sunday June 3, the Findlay Community Centre will have a climbing wall, catch-and-release fishing, bikes, scooters, skateboards and drumming from noon to 4 p.m. There will also be several activities taking place outside the centre as part of Dartmouth Switch.

Next Saturday, June 9, in addition to the usual free cycling, inline skating and skateboarding at the Emera Oval, there will also be an art station, an interactive archery challenge, Zumba, drum fit, seed planting, inflatables and more from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
