The Halifax Mooseheads picked up a 5-2 victory over the Cape Breton Eagles on Wednesday night.
Markus Vidicek put the Herd on the board less than eight minutes into the game, then scored a second goal just before the end of the first period.
Cameron Whynot and Landon Miron extended the Mooseheads' lead in the second period to 4-0.
With less than one minute left in the second period, Émile Hegarty-Aubin scored the Eagle's first goal in the game.
It was followed by Mark Rumsey shortly into the third period, bringing the score 4-2.
Halifax's James Swan scored the final goal in the game.
The Mooseheads and Eagles will face off again Friday night in Halifax.
