The Halifax Mooseheads could soon be searching for a new head coach.

A report from TVA Sports says Eric Veilleux may be in line for an assistant coach position with the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League. That's the farm team for the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning.

The 47-year-old has coached in the AHL before, spending two seasons with the farm team of the Colorado Avalanche.

Veilleux led the Mooseheads to the QMJHL finals, as well as the championship game at the Memorial Cup. The Herd lost both games to the Rouyn Noranda Huskies.
