A man was robbed in Dartmouth Saturday night when he agreed to cash a cheque for two strangers.
Halifax Regional Police say they responded to a robbery on Wyse Road at 7:40 p.m.
They say a 21-year-old man was approached by two males who asked if he would cash a cheque for them.
Agreeing, the three went to a nearby ATM located near the Wyse Road Shoppers Drug Mart and after withdrawing funds for himself, the man was assaulted and one of the suspects withdrew further funds from the victim's account.
The suspects, described as two black males both between 25 and 30 years old and about 6 feet tall, then fled the area.
Police say the assault did not leave the victim seriously injured but it did include a punch to the face.
HRP say the investigation is ongoing.
