Man accused of pointing loaded crossbow at officers

Police were called to Quinpool Rd. after a delivery driver reported a masked and armed man answered the door

A delivery driver says a masked and armed man answered the door on Quinpool Rd. Thursday night.

The driver told police the man had a rifle slung on his hip and two handguns on his waist.

When officers arrived, they say the man opened the door and pointed a loaded crossbow at them. 

No one was injured.

Adam Wayne Zinck, 40, of Halifax has been charged with the following: 

  • Assaulting a peace officer with a weapon
  • Four counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Using an imitation firearm while committing an indictable offence
  • Common nuisance - endangering the lives, safety or health of the public
  • Mischief - obstruct use of property
  • Mischief - obstruct use/enjoyment of property
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon
  • Possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon with no license
