A Halifax-based podcast is getting some recognition and more than a few new listeners.

The Nighttime podcast has partnered with a national entertainment company to air on radio stations across Canada.

The topics of Nighttime range from true crime to the paranormal.

Jordan Bonaparte is the host and writer of the podcast. He said his podcast is a labour of love.

"I try to break even and I don't want to turn the podcast into a job," said Bonaparte. "I feel like if I made it a job I'd become obsessed with downloads and ratings and charts, and the content would suffer as a result."

Nighttime will be broadcast on six different radio stations starting on Oct. 22.

It's currently listed as the number eight podcast in Canada with five million downloads since launching in 2016.
