The federal budget has been released and according to a spokesperson for CPA Canada, it was fairly uneventful.
It was a relatively disappointing budget overall, according to John Wonfor who says the Trudeau government was silent on a number of issues.
He says there was little in the budget for our region.
"There's something in the budget with respect to renewing Canada's network of small-craft harbours, they're going to address that with some funding," said Wonfor. "But other than that, there's remarkably little in the budget specifically targeting eastern Canada or Halifax in particular."
According to Wonfor, a number of universities in the region may see some benefits from the $2.6 billion investment in innovation.
But overall, he says he believes the government fell short on creating an appropriate tax environment for Canadians.
