Lavoie scores sixth OT game winner to help Mooseheads beat Islanders 3-2

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - Raphael Lavoie did it again, scoring his sixth OT game winner of the season to help the Halifax Mooseheads defeat the Charlottetown Islanders 3-2 Wednesday night.

After a scoreless first period, Charlottetown's Daniel Hardie and Nikita Alexandrov netted a pair to take a 2-0 lead.

Otto Somppi scored his 24th of the season to make it a one goal game heading into the final period.

Somppi eventually tied things up at 2-2 in third period, forcing overtime where Raphael Lavoie won it for the Herd, scoring his sixth OT game winner of the season.

On Saturday, the Mooseheads heads back to the Scotiabank Centre to host the Gatineau Olympiques.
