CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - Raphael Lavoie was the hero on Friday night, scoring twice, including the game winner, to help give the Halifax Mooseheads a 3-2 overtime win over the Charlottetown Islanders.

Both teams found themselves in a bit of a stalemate during the first two periods, with neither finding the back eachother's net. During that time, Charlottetown out shot Halifax 27-19.

The Mooseheads ended the scoring drought early in the third period, with Lavoie scored his 17th of the season at the 2:40 mark. Cameron Askew tied it up for Charlottetown a short while later, with Keith Getson giving the Islanders their first lead of the game at the 17:50 mark.

Jake Ryczek tied things up for Halifax with less than a minute left in the third, forcing overtime where Lavoie scored the game winner to make it a 3-2 for the Mooseheads.

On Saturday, the Herd head over to Moncton to take on the Wildcats.
