Halifax Regional Municipality says swimmers can once again head to Kinap Beach.

Earlier tests at the Porters Lake swimming spot indicated high bacteria levels in the water, but HRM says follow-up tests show the water is safe again.

The water quality at all supervised and one unsupervised beach in HRM is regularly tested throughout the summer season.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Penhorn Lake Beach remains closed.

In addition, a water advisory for Shubenacadie Grand Lake remains in effect due to the presence of blue-green algae.

Residents can check the status of their favourite municipal beach online.
