A three vehicle crash on the Angus L. Macdonald Bridge last night is the result of an impaired driver, according to police.

It happened just before 10:30 about mid-span, and police say the Dartmouth bound vehicle crossed the centre line and hit an upcoming vehicle. A third vehicle then became involved.

The driver of the second vehicle had to be extracted by Halifax fire, but only suffered minor injuries.

A 36 year old Halifax man has been arrested for impaired driving. He will appear in court at a later date.
