On Sunday November 10, two HRP officers were found guilty of criminal negligence causing death in the case of Corey Rogers.

Corey Rogers was found dead while in police custody after choking on his own vomit in June 2016.

HRP says they have "been paying close attention to this trial, and we will review the court’s decision and determine next steps."

Special constables Dan Fraser and Cheryl Gardner will both be sentenced in February 2020.

HRP say their deepest sympathies go out to Rogers' family and everyone involved.

The emailed statement said police will not comment further on the decision itself out of respect for the court process.
