HRP investigate robbery in north end overnight

A 62-year old man was taken to the QEII hospital for treatment of what are believed to be non life threatening injuries

A man has been taken to hospital after an early morning robbery in north end Halifax. 

Police say a 62-year-old man was walking on Black Street, near Gottingen Street and North Street, just after midnight when two men came out of an alleyway and attacked him.

The pair allegedly hit the victim in the head, taking his change purse and running off. The two attackers are described as black men, one of them wearing a light coloured head covering.

Investigators ask anyone who witnessed or has video from the area at the time of the incident to call police at 902-490-5020.
