Halifax police are investigating a hit and run that happened early Friday morning in Dartmouth.

According to police, officers responded to reports of a loud collision in the area of Windmill and Wyse roads just after midnight.

Witnesses told police a white Ford or Chevrolet pickup truck was racing a Hyundai Sonata on Alderney Drive. Police say the white truck tried to turn right onto Wyse Road when it hit the median and crashed into a Ford Flex stopped at the lights.

Police say the Ford was significantly damaged but there were no reported injuries.

The white truck that's believed to be in the hit and run crash was found Friday afternoon.

"The investigation is continuing," says police. "No arrests have been made and no charges have been laid."
