High-risk offender charged with fleeing custody

Halifax Regional Police have charged Joshua James Turner with breaching a long-term supervision order.

The 35-year-old, who was staying at a halfway house in Dartmouth, has been deemed a high-risk to reoffend related to sexual and violent offences

Police say Turner left the Jamieson Community Correctional Center on Morris Drive at around 9 a.m. on Sunday, May 26, and they arrested him before 3 p.m. that day.

He's scheduled to be in Dartmouth Provincial Court Friday.
