A neighbourhood in Halifax's south end has been nominated in the 'Great Places in Canada' contest.
The national online contest by the Canadian Institute of Planners describes Spring Garden Road/Schmidtville as a vibrant neighbourhood where you can take in a movie, go for drinks with friends and stroll historic streets.
It points to public transit, access to services and landmarks such like the Halifax Public Gardens and Halifax Central Library as contributing factors that make the area a great place to live, work and play.
There's only one other nominee in the neighbourhood category, the Montreal suburb of Lachine.
Public online voting goes until October 27.
