Fire at downtown gym cause of hotel evacuation Saturday night

Halifax Fire and Emergency said guests were evacuated from the Barrington Hotel into the food court of the Scotia Square Mall last night

A fire at a downtown Goodlife gym caused an emergency evauation of a nearby hotel last Saturday night as the building filled with smoke. 

Halifax Fire and Emergency said guests were evacuated from the Barrington Hotel into the food court of the Scotia Square Mall with help from Halifax Regional Police. 

No injuries occured, and guests were allowed back in the hotel shortly before 11:30 PM.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
