The second phase of construction for upgrades to the Halifax Ferry Terminal have begun.

Halifax MP Andy Fillmore announced the start of phase two of infrastructure upgrades to the terminal in a news release.

The work will include washroom renovations and the installation of noise dampeners to create a more welcoming area for passengers.

A temporary washroom trailer has been set up for passengers and construction will not impact the ferry service schedule.

The first phase of work included service room improvements and the addition of a tourism kiosk.
