A 50-year-old Falmouth man is facing child pornography charges.

RCMP say a tip from the National Child Exploitation and Crime Centre led them to search a home in that community Thursday.

David Stacey MacDonald was arrested at the residence and has been charged with possession of child pornography and transmitting child pornography.

Following an appearance in Windsor Provincial Court, Mounties say he's been released on a number strict conditions.

MacDonald's next cout date is scheduled for Sept. 17.

"In Nova Scotia it is mandatory for citizens to report suspected child pornography," police said in a news release. "This means that anyone who encounters child pornography material or recordings must report it to the police."

They say that can be done through your local police detachment or online through Canada's National tipline.
