If your spring cleaning has turned up unwanted but still usable items, this is the weekend to get rid of them.
Halifax Regional Municipality's Curbside Give Away goes June 2nd and 3rd.
"Reusing and recycling household items instead of discarding them reduces pressures on our municipal facilities and is better for the environment," they said in a news release.
Items should be clearly labelled with "free" stickers or signs and treasure hunters are asked to not take anything without one.
They're also asked to respect private property, obey traffic laws and watch out for children.
Examples of what can be placed at the curb include books, CDs, DVDs, sporting equipment, toys, tools, small appliances, kitchen gadgets, electronics and holiday decorations.
To increase your odds of finding a good home for your old stuff, you can pin your location on an interactive map.
Any items that haven't been taken over the weekend need to be removed from the curb by dusk on Sunday. HRM recommends donating them to charitable organizations.
The event goes rain or shine, so it's a good idea to check the forecast. The municipality says to use your discretion on whether or not to put out your items.
