Facebook posts strong 4Q as company closes gap with Google
SAN FRANCISCO — Facebook is growing at an exceptional pace as it enters adolescence, propelling it into a better position to challenge Google as the Internet's most powerful company.

If you use Facebook for business, you might need to start paying more to get your posts seen.

This comes after a recent algorithm change from the social networking site.

In the age of social media it's important for businesses to know what to post on Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms.

But Peter Moorhouse, president of the Atlantic division of the Better Business Bureau says Facebook is making it harder for some content to be seen.

"Facebook calls organizations 'publishers'," explained Moorhouse. "Any publisher of content, unless you're paying to boost your posts, people have been seeing your posts less in the last couple of weeks."

But he says it's not all bad, since the change means people are more likely to see posts from friends and family rather than from businesses.

If you use Facebook for commercial purposes, Moorhouse suggests creating a group instead of a page as Facebook groups aren't affected by this new algorithm.

He also points out that if you're posting quality content, you're more likely to get clicks, likes and shares.
