Central Nova has highest voter turnout in the region

When it comes to the electoral ridings in our area, Central Nova has the highest voter turnout.

According to Elections Canada, 44,559 of 60,251 of registered voters in that riding, or 73.96 per cent, showed up at the polls.

Here's a look at the voter turnout in ridings in and around Halifax Regional Municipality:

  • Halifax -- 54,489 of 74,778 registered electors voted or 72.87 per cent
  • Halifax West -- 54,356 of 77,083 registered electors voted or 70.52 per cent
  • Sackville-Preston-Chezzetcook -- 49,563 of 71,468 registered electors voted, or 69.35 per cent
  • Kings-Hants -- 48,035 of 69,566 registered electors voted or 69.05 per cent
  • Dartmouth-Cole Harbour -- 52,585 of 76,985 of registered electors voted or 68.31 per cent
  • South Shore-St. Margarets --  52,521 of 78,238 registered electors voted or 67.13 per cent

Elections Canada says the results do not include those who registered on election day.
