Halifax Regional Municipality is giving residents a chance to share their sympathies with the people of Fredericton.

Four people were killed in a shooting Friday morning in the New Brunswick city.

The victims include Fredericton Police officers 45-year-old Const. Robb Costello and 43-year-old Const. Sara Burns.

The identities of the two other victims, a woman and a man, are being withheld pending next of kin notification.

According to a tweet from Mayor Mike Savage, the municipality has set up books of condolence in several locations.

They can be signed over the weekend at the Halifax Central Library,  Alderney Gate Public Library, and at the Halifax Regional Police headquarters on Gottingen Street.
