A Bedford man has been charged with stunting after an RCMP officer says he was going 206 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone.

The officer pulled the driver over just after noon Thursday on Highway 102.

The 40-year-old's licence has been suspended and his vehicle has been seized. The fine for stunting in $2422.50.

Mounties say speed is a major cause of serious and fatal crashes in Nova Scotia.

"If you see someone driving unsafely on our roads, report it by calling RCMP at 1-800-803-RCMP (7267) or 911," they said in a news release.
