Halifax District RCMP have charged a suspect after hydromorphone was stolen from a Lower Sackville business.

Officers were called to Sackville Dr. near Riverside at around 9:30 a.m. Monday.

They were told a suspect went into the business and demanded the pills.

Because the man kept one hand in his pocket, the employee was afraid the man may be armed.

After getting the hydromorphone, police say the suspect fled the store, but a witness was able to give them his direction of travel along with a description.

John Charles Auld, 32, was arrested during a traffic stop in Dartmouth.

He has been charged with robbery and wearing a mask while committing an indictable offence.
