Via Rail service between Halifax and Montreal has been cancelled for several months

The company says the Ocean route, along with the Canadian route and the Sleeper class on the Winnipeg-Churchill route won't start up again until at least Nov. 1.

"This was not an easy decision to make but, given the current circumstances, the health and safety of our passengers, crew members and local communities must come first," said president and CEO  Cynthia Garneau in a news release.

Anyone with a reservation that has been affected by the service suspension will be contacted and automatically reimbursed.
