QMJHL Roundup: Armada wins series vs. Wildcats with 8-3 victory

MONCTON, N.B. — Drake Batherson and Alexander Katerinakis had two goals apiece as the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada rolled past the Moncton Wildcats 8-3 on Friday to win their Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoff series in five games.

Blainville-Boisbriand will face the Charlottetown Islanders in the QMJHL's semifinal.

Joel Teasdale put away the eventual winner for the Armada at 7:56 of the second period. Samuel Bolduc, Mathieu Boissonneault and Thomas Ethier also scored, while Emile Samson made 21 saves for the win.

Alexander Khovanov, James Phelan and Simon Le Coultre scored for the Wildcats, who got 28 saves from Matthew Waite.

Blainville-Boisbriand did not score on its four power plays and Moncton was 0 for 5 with the man advantage.

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. — Vitalii Abramov's goal 5:20 into the first period was the winner as the Tigers held off Drummondville.

Victoriaville holds a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series with Game 5 in Drummondville, Que., on Sunday. The winner of this quarterfinal will take on the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in the semifinal.

Chase Harwell and Jimmy Huntington also scored for the Tigres, while Etienne Montpetit made 24 saves for the win.

Pavel Koltygin scored for the Voltigeurs and Olivier Rodrigue kicked out 18 shots in net.

Victoriaville went 0 for 4 on the power play and Drummondville could not score on its one man advantage.
