Adopt Me: Taru loves watching TV

She would prefer a quiet home with no children and no other pets

HalifaxToday, in partnership with the Dartmouth SPCA, brings you a regular feature highlighting a special pet that is in need of adoption.

Taru is a little Manx Cat from the SPCA, she is our foster cat and she has been with us for six months now, and she has the prettiest green eyes that hypnotize you.

Since Taru has been with us she has adjusted quite well and is finally enjoying some play time, when Taru first came here with us she was afraid of everything, she wouldn't come near you, she didn't know how to play, she ran away every time from her bowl if someone came into the room and she was very skittish. She has come through leaps and bounds and every day she amazes us by learning to trust.

She just loves TV, her favorite shows are the Walton's, High Way To Heaven and she loves this old movie called the Secret Garden, as soon as my husband puts it on for her she sits and watches it every time.... she loves the crow in the movie.

Taru has to be one of the most kind and good-natured cats we have ever fostered, she is a sweetheart, she will just need time to get used to her new surroundings.

Her favorite foods are Iams Perfect Portions pate, salmon and also chicken. She loves pate with a bit of warm water mixed in to make it like a gravy, she doesn't like anything chunky. She also likes the Purina One Indoor Dry Cat Food Advantage...Purina ONE Hairball, Weight Control, Indoor, Natural Dry Cat Food; Indoor
Advantage and loves her treats Temptations, she will do anything for

Taru deserves a kind home where she feels safe and loved and with someone who will give her the time and patients to become the best possible cat that she is.

This little Manx cat Taru is amazingly a very very kind kitty, since shes been with us she has not bitten us once, or even scratched us, she uses her scratching pads every day and doesn't use your furniture at all for her nails, she doesn't get up on any counter or table surfaces.

She's been learning that it's nice to have positive attention, being patted and having love, and she is now getting up on my lap and comes up to need bread on your belly when you go to bed.

We are already in love with her and I think she deserves to have a home where she never has to feel afraid in and where she feels love and comfort. Taru would be best placed in a quiet home with no small children and no other animals.

I will be sending Taru's toys with whoever adopts her, she loves for you to flutter her cat teaser and then she runs through her tunnel to then slide on a big piece of paper. She loves big paper bags as well. I only wish we could adopt her ourselves, she's a jewel.
