Adopt Me: Popcorn the tuxedo cat

This poor girl came to the shelter very thin, had an ruptured anal gland, dental disease and had ear infections

HalifaxToday, in partnership with the Dartmouth SPCA, brings you a regular feature highlighting a special pet that is in need of adoption.

Popcorn had a rough life before finding herself in the care of the SPCA. She was found as a stray that was in need of immediate care. She was very thin, had an ruptured anal gland, dental disease and had ear infections.

Needless to say she was very skittish and required lots of love and attention to help her learn that everything we were doing medically was to help her. With this we felt that the best thing for her was to go to a loving, quiet foster home where she can begin to feel more comfortable and to learn to trust people.

She is doing very well in her foster home, but would still do best in a quiet home with no young children. Prefer 16 years of age and older.

Her foster had this to say about her:

"Popcorn is a very cute senior cat. She takes her time to warm up and settle in but then she is very cuddly and comfortable. She does not like to be picked up and is sensitive to loud noises. But she loves to snuggle and cuddle with you on your couch."

Popcorn is still currently in the foster home. She is available for adoption through the Dartmouth SPCA. For more information please contact us at 468-7877 Option 6 for more information or click here.
