Adopt Me: Meet Amaya, the world's cuddliest cat

She would need to be the only pet in the home

HalifaxToday, in partnership with the Dartmouth SPCA, brings you a regular feature highlighting a special pet that is in need of adoption.

At first when Amaya came into the shelter, she wasn't quite feeling like herself. She was quite sassy with staff and wasn't always approachable. BUT staff saw past this girl's first impression.

After giving her a few days to settle in, her sweet personality started to come through. Day by day we were able to interact with her more and more. She would chirp at you from her kennel but was still a bit standoffish upon first interactions.

She was sent to a foster home to see how she acted in a home environment. As we assumed, her personality shone through like the sun on a cloudy day! She is now available for adoption. Her fosters had the following to say about her:

"Amaya is the world's cuddliest cat. All she wants to do is get cozy and snuggle up beside you. She makes adorable chirping sounds when she gets excited.

She's super brave and won't hesitate to approach dogs or strangers. She loves a chin scratch and getting belly rubs. Her favourite toy right now is a bobby pin but she's not generally a super playful kitty.

Amaya needs to be the only pet in the home. Whoever gets Amaya will be very very lucky!"

Amaya is available for adoption from the Dartmouth SPCA. For adoption information please contact the Dartmouth SPCA at 468-7877 Option 6 or click here.
