Cody
Cody is searching for a foster home, ideally one that is interested in adopting him once he progresses with his training and socialization. Applicants should be able to provide a secure environment with a consistent routine and have adequate amount of time to spend working with him.
Cody is a sweet and sensitive young border collie, about 10 months old. He likes hanging out with his doggy friends or cuddling with his favourite people.
He can still be very nervous in new situations or with new people and needs a family or person who is patient and willing to work with SPCA staff and trainers to make sure he will reach his full potential.
Cody will require any potential family who is willing to come spend time with him at the shelter and are open to him visiting his new potential home with SPCA staff to make sure he is calm and comfortable in a new environment. When Cody is nervous or startled he will often freeze and take time to process what is happening around him.
He often responds to new sounds and situations by trying to move further away so special care must be given to securing doors, yards and any environment if he is not leashed and attached to a conscientiousness person.
Cody is looking for a home with adults only, another confident dog already living in the home, a house as opposed to an apartment or condo, and a fence in the backyard would be a huge bonus!
Cody is available at the Dartmouth SPCA, 902-468-7877, dartmouth@spcans.ca.
