HalifaxToday, in partnership with the Dartmouth SPCA, brings you a regular feature highlighting a special pet that is in need of adoption.
But that face though!! Butter is as sweet as he looks and is looking for his happily ever after!
Butter is a one-year-old male Labrador Retriever/Pyrenees mix.
This guy came into our care through a cruelty investigation and is eager to forget the past and create a new life!
Butter shouldn't be in a home with kids under the age of 12.
Butter has spent his life living outdoors trying to survive in a large pack of dogs. He is looking for an understanding home willing to show him what the "family-life" is all about! Butter bonds very closely to people and is eager to please. Once he is comfortable with his surroundings, Butter is a sweet and snuggly boy who craves attention.
Butter also loves to go for walks and explore the world around him! He would love a home where he could could go for regular walks and be able to experience all he has missed out on.
Due to living in an outdoor pack of dogs and never having proper socializing with other animals, Butter is required to go to a pet free home. Butter will not be suitable for dog parks or doggy playdates. His future home will need to be understanding of his upbringing and not put him in situations where he is not comfortable.
Butter is a goofy and loving boy who always brings a smile to our face! He can be shy in new situations but once he opens up he will show you his playful side!
When he isn't out for a walk he loves to play tag and chase toys around in our outdoor dog run. He loves to curl up in comfy blankets and be surrounded by the people who love him. More than anything Butter wants to experience the life he's never been able have.
Butter eats a prescription diet for Urinary Care and will need to remain on this diet to stay comfortable and healthy!
Butter is available for adoption from the Dartmouth SPCA. Please contact us at 468-7877 Option 6 for more information or at http://www.novascotiaspca.ca/contact-us.
